PGCert/PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
This Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Secondary Care) course from The University of Hull is designed to support trainees in developing their levels of CBT competency and to be able to work with clients who experience common mental health problems. About the programme
This Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Secondary Care) course from The University of Hull runs annually and starts in March. The course will start with a two week intensive teaching block and teaching days with the university will be Wednesday and Thursday thereafter. It is anticipated that the entirety of this course will be delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams. Teaching will take place on Wednesday full day and Thursday half day with supervision groups taking place on Thursday afternoon.
The recruitment for this course is completed in partnership with IAPT services. The application process will be managed by the IAPT service who will be advertising a Hight Intensity Trainee position. The university will then co-facilitate interviews with the employing service. Applicants should have a related healthcare degree with a minimum 2:2 award. Applicants should also either have a core healthcare profession or be able to demonstrate the successful completion of a Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) Portfolio.
Future prospects
This course aims to train NHS and other clinicians in evidence-based therapy, to extend knowledge of CBT theory and practice, to provide CBT to clients with serious mental illness and other conditions within secondary mental health and other care services.
